Toronto Public Library to Feature Bombay Writer Anosh Irani

Bombay born writer Anosh Irani will meet with book fans next week at two Toronto Public Library locations: Mount Dennis Branch, 1123 Weston Road, 416-394-1008 Tuesday, November 27, 2007, 7 p.m. AND Albion Branch, 1515 Albion Road, 416-394-5170 Thursday, November 29, 2007, 7 p.m.

Anosh Irani was born and raised in Bombay. He moved to Vancouver in 1998. His first play, The Matka King, premiered at the Arts Club, Vancouver, in October 2003. His new play, Bombay Black, is the winner of 4 Dora Mavor Moore Awards including for Outstanding New Play 2006 and has been produced in Toronto and Bombay. Irani*s first novel, The Cripple and His Talismans, was published in Canada, the US, Germany, and China. His second novel, The Song of Kahunsha, was selected for the CBC*s *Canada Reads* Program, and was nominated for the Ethel Wilson Fiction Award.
