Lorraine Kimsa Theatre for Young People (LKTYP) is proud to welcome back Montreal’s DynamO Théâtre (Lili) with me me me… another stunning show by Lise Vaillancourt. This captivating production leads off LKTYP’s 42nd season and will be presented on the Mainstage from October 1 to 13.
Teachers, parents, and children alike will be wowed by an adventurous group of school mates, including the enthusiastic Mathilda (who is prone to yelling “me, me, me” as she fervently raises her hand in class). When Mathilda’s eagerness begins to evoke derision from her peers, she no longer feels at home in the classroom that has always been a place of excitement and success for her. Consigned to outsider status, Mathilda makes a decision that will surprise everyone!
DynamO Théâtre excels in the art of imaginative storytelling through acrobatic movement and has wowed audiences with their talented assembly of gymnasts, mimes, jugglers, and circus performers since 1981. LKTYP audiences loved DynamO’s production of Lili, presented in the 2006/06 season.
LKTYP is offering two French language performances for school groups: Thurs. Oct. 4 and Tues. Oct. 9, both at 1 pm.
Directed by Robert Dion, me me me… explores issues of conflict resolution and citizenship and features a stellar cast of actors/acrobats including Charles Gaudreau as Albert, Kim Henry as Suzanna, Oliver Koomsatira as Stanley, Frédéric Nadeau as Nathan and Mariflore Beaudin-Véronneau as Mathilda.
The creative team includes Set Designer Anick La Bissonnière; Composer Frédéric Desager; Costume and Prop Designer Marie-Soleil Lavoie; Lighting Designer Sonoyo Nishikawa; Acrobatics Coach Alain Sébastien Gauthier; Choreographic Coach Marta Carter and Rhythm Coach Charles Duquette.
