If you are going to compete properly within your chosen industry, you need to make sure that you are competing on an apples-to-apples level, otherwise you are not competing at all but just a laggard company.
The ex-UPS store on Yonge and Isabella is now called The Backoffice. A backoffice that needs more services. They've cut their outgoing shipment services but if you have a mailbox with them you could still receive packages just don't send anything out. Huh? The reason? They don't want the hassle of people complaining about lost packages months down the line - isn't shipping in and out part of the whole business of shipping? Is one sided shipment now a new business model? They do have copying services though which to our understanding was their service prior to them going out of the UPS franchise business. They also split this office so there's actually two companies in one location now (can we say frugal? or smart businessmen?). The other company does graphic design and create posters, business cards, and such. It ain't no Kinko's unfortunately and may not be in the league of a UPS store anymore. It may well be in its own class - a business model that is designed for the benefit of the owner rather than the client. We hope it improves but for now, if you are looking to ship anything the nearest UPS store from this location is near the City Transportation Services on 997 Bay.
UPDATE: On 4/23/07, this location is going back to becoming a UPS store. Let's see if the new management improves from the current state of service.
