I had the pleasure of attending the Anime Ball at the York Woods Library last night. If you have not had an opportunity to check out the incredible offerings of the Keep Toronto Reading Programme sponsored by the Toronto Public Library, make sure you do catch one of their programmes before they end on February 28, 2007. I attended the event amongst numerous goblins, angels, draculas, heroes and villains, all dressed up in the spirit of the event. It was fun, interactive event for the young and old alike. An Anime classic movie, entitled "Ah, my Goddess", played after the presentation, about an angry angel being stopped from destroying love.
The highlight of the evening for me was to hear Emilie-Claire Barlow tell about her experiences as the voice over as Sailor Mars in the famed Anime series Sailor Moon. She has also been the voiceover for numerous other shows such as CardCaptors, 16, Rescue Heroes as well as coveted. "Always Fresh at Tim Horton's" voice gig a while back.
If you missed Emilie-Claire Barlow, she is playing on Saturday, March 24th 2007 at 9:30pm at The Rex Hotel. See her website for details.
